Danforth Anchor Kit by Tie Down
Danforth anchor kit by Tie Down is complete and relatively cheap anchoring kit. It includes an 8 pounds (3.6 kg) galvanized Danforth anchor, 100 feet (30.5 m) of 3/8" (15 mm) nylon line with thimbles, 6 feet (1.83 m) of 1/4" (10 mm) galvanized chain and two 5/16" (8 mm) shackles.
This kit is recommended for boats 17-24 feet (5 - 7.3 m) in length.
Kit has everything one needs - except the boat :)
Anchor - anchor is of decent size and weight to be used as second anchor for boats of recommended size. Strong and sturdy for anchor of that size. It is well protected from corrosion - however, if you have opportunity to wash it (at least from time to time) with fresh water, be sure to do it. I say 'second' boat anchor, since I believe that any boat that can't be pulled out of water by 2-3 adults should have one big Admiralty anchor with several meters of heavy chain and at least 1 inch (2.54 cm) thick rope of sufficient length - and hopefully never have to use it ... Call me paranoid, but don't mess with Mother Nature! :)
Anyway, in this role, this anchor is more than sufficient. If you do tend to anchor in waters with strong currents and winds and if you have larger boat, consider 15+ pounds (7+ kg) Danforth anchor as anchor for daily use.
Chain and shackles - good size and strength. Maybe chain could be little bit longer, but for everyday use in relatively shallow water, more than long enough.
Rope - for anchoring in relatively shallow waters, more than thick and long enough, especially since anchor and chain are not very heavy (note: I am 100+ kg guy and I never liked anchor winches :) ).
Long story short: nice anchor kit, cheaper than individual components.
