SeeReef Full Face Snorkel Mask
SeeReef Full Face Snorkel Mask is very popular 'full face' mask. Thanks to the flat viewing panel, it is highly suitable for shallow diving and observing the sea from the surface. The four valves and extra long breathing tube keep the view fog-free and enable the diver/swimmer to breath with ease. This mask is suitable for low to medium intensity swimming and shallow diving, with low intensity being highly recommended.
However, like all similar masks, SeeReef Full Face Snorkel Mask is not suitable for deep diving and for high intensity swimming/diving!
SeeReef Full Face Snorkel Mask comes in two colors: Jet Black and Pacific Blue. Also, it comes in two sizes: Small/Medium and Large/Extra Large.
The easiest method to check which size is suitable, is to measure the distance between the eyes and the chin. If there is less than 4.7 inches (12 cm), a Small/Medium size is recommend, and if there is more than 4.7 inches, go for Large/Extra Large model.
SeeReef Full Face Snorkel Mask is designed to provide full 180° filed of view under the water. Viewing window/panel is flat, providing view without distortions - very important for observing and especially when spearfishing in the shallows.
Note: full face snorkel masks block access to the diver's nose, thus preventing the diver from equalizing the pressure - this limits effective diving depth to about 10-15 feet (3-5 m).
Mask seals very well, helping the 4 breathing valves to keep the filed of view fog-free, regardless of the water temperature. Mask comes with adjustable straps, helping the user to use mask comfortably, with no extra force on the face, but with a tight fit. Snorkel (breathing tube) is long enough (~9.5 inches - 24 cm) for keeping the mask constantly fully submerged, without interruptions in air supply. Also, it has more air intakes to maximize air flow - nonetheless, be sure to breathe deeply. If you are new to diving, it takes some time to get accustomed to such breathing pattern, but very soon it becomes natural way of breathing, at least when swimming/diving.
Note: having a beard will NOT help a mask to seal the face from water properly - freshly shaved face is highly recommended, not only for this mask, but also for all diving masks is general. Eyeglasses or sunglasses can be used with this mask, but keep in mind that arms of the glasses can cause water to enter the mask. Assuming that the glasses are small enough to fit into the mask.
Depending on the store, SeeReef Full Snorkel Mask can be found as a complete kit, consisting of 2 different sets of ear plugs, a travel bag and the spare seals.
