The Overhand Knot is very simple knot. It makes a knot on the end of a rope, which can prevent rope from unraveling and acts as a simple stopper knot.
How to Tie Overhand Knot
Take a rope and on one end to form a loop and then pass the end through the loop. Pull the rope to tighten the knot and Overhand Knot is tied.
When pulled tight, it can function as stopper knot and to prevent rope from fraying.
The Overhand Knot is very similar to:
- The Half Hitch - used for tying the rope to something
- The Half Knot - used for binding; first part of Square Knot - sometimes not even considered as knot :)
