The Sheet Bend Knot is used for joining two ropes of equal or unequal size. It is also known as becket bend, weaver's knot or as weaver's hitch.

How to tie Sheet Bend

It is one of the most simplest knots. On the photos below, you can see how this knot is tied. Also, you can click on small photos to see larger gallery. 

Take two lengths of rope (of equal or unequal thickness), make a half loop (blue rope) and then pass the thinner rope (white) through the loop and behind and below the (blue) shorter end. Then, pass the thinner (white) rope under itself (above the blue) and pull both ropes to finish the knot.

Note: for maximum strength and security, rope ends should end up on the same side.
